Peoples Natural Gas cuts rates

Peoples Natural Gas customers will pay slightly less for their gas beginning today.

The quarterly adjusted cost recovery rate has decreased from $2.84 per thousand cubic feet to $2.42 per mcf through Sept. 30, said Carol Scanlon, a Peoples manager.

With the decrease, the average residential customer who uses 86,000 cubic feet per year, or 7.2 mcf per month, will see a monthly bill decrease from $70 to $67, Scanlon said.

The decrease is due to market prices being down.
